![]() Oh I certainly agree that more memory is a necessity for some things - as you say, video editing and such. Its not just gaming either video editing graphic design and many more require large amounts of ram. :) There are many reasons why 16gb is standard these days, games are becoming more and more dependant on high amounts of ram, many games i can play flawlessly while others with lower amounts struggle. On the flip side though, considering how inexpensive some good memory can be these days, if money isn't too much of a problem, it certainly won't hurt your system. To clarify, I'm not saying 8GB is better than 16 - I just don't think there's that much out there that needs it. If your system is so bad that the often minute improvements an extra 8GB of memory over an already adequate 8GB gives you is even noticeable, then I suggest you need to optimise your system better.
